Inspired by Obama's speech to children on the first day of school, I wrote, Education for the Westport Arts Horizon Award ceremony, which was premiered on Oct 25th, 2009.
I wrote this piece in a hotel room in Okinawa, Japan, July 2008. It's in three sections. It has an ambient vibe with small influences of pop especially in the opening. I wanted to create something that gives a really open space or feel to it.
I wrote Church project for a recital I did with Chris Johnson (of Riverside Church) on organ at Interchurch in NYC. I improvised along with this track, but I also like this track by itself. I wanted to play with filling the echoey space with all kinds for trumpet sounds.
I'm a huge sigur ros fan. When I started writing this i was inspired from some of their synth sounds. The tune went in a very different direction.
I wrote/arranged this for my mother in-law's birthday a few summers ago. It's a play on a familiar song and I took it in a new direction.
